A MAG airport cyberattack exposed customer information linked to Manchester, Stansted and East Midlands airports, although the operator said flights, passenger safety and aviation security were not affected.
Manchester Airports Group confirmed the breach on Thursday, August 27, saying an unauthorised third party obtained data connected to car park, lounge and fast-track bookings as well as in-airport Wi-Fi registrations.
MAG said no payment or banking information was compromised.
The supplied report states that the exposed information primarily included customer email addresses. The Independent reported that some telephone numbers, vehicle registration numbers and postcodes associated with airport bookings were also accessed.

MAG said it contained the risk after discovering the incident and began working with specialist advisers to protect customers and its systems.

Flight schedules and terminal operations at Manchester, Stansted and East Midlands airports continued normally, according to the report.
