Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif arrived in Karachi to attend Edhi’s funeral.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif also arrived in Karachi to attend funeral prayers of the most endearing person in the country.
Political leaders, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan governments also expressed their deep sense of grief and announced three days of mourning.
PM Nawaz also announced that Edhi would be awarded Nishan-e-Imtiaz posthumously.
Following the funeral prayers, he will be laid to rest at Edhi Village graveyard with full honours.
Edhi’s funeral is expected to be one of the biggest in Pakistan’s history.
