Islamabad: A sessions court handed the death sentence to Pakistani model and former Miss Singapore Fehmina Chaudhry’s murderer to death.
According to details, after suspect Maaz Waqar confessed to murdering Fehmina Chaudhry, the court sentenced him to death. Maaz’s accomplice was handed the life imprisonment sentence.
The court also ordered in its verdict that the deceased relatives be paid Rs 300,000 as compensation money. Additional Sessions Judge Islamabad Abida Sajjad announced the decision. Accomplice Asif Mahmood was given the life imprisonment sentence and the order to compensate the victim’s relatives with Rs 200,000.
In October 2013, the suspects lured model Fehmina Chaudhry to come to Islamabad by claiming to offer her a lucrative contract from an advertisement agency. The suspects kidnapped her and demanded Rs 20 million ransom money from Chaudhry’s family. Upon not getting the money, the suspects killed the model.
A case was registered for the murder of Fehmina Chaudhry in the presence of Fehmina Chaudhry’s mother at Abpara police station. During the course of interrogation, Maaz Waqar confessed to killing Chaudhry.
