Corps Commander visits HQ Rangers

The Corps Commander Karachi, Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar visited HQ Pakistan Rangers Sindh today. On his arrival he was received by DG Rangers Maj Gen Bilal Akbar.

During his visit, Corps Commander was briefed about the operation conducted by Rangers at 90 and surrounding areas. He was told that the operation was conducted on intelligence of presence of hardcore target killers, absconders, criminals and anti social elements in the area, who were hiding in a virtually “No Go Area”.

Pakistan Rangers Sindh informed the corps commander that they acted as per the ruling of the supreme Court and mandate given by the government of Pakistan and managed to arrest dangerous, convicted criminals.

He was also told that a large quantity of prohibited weapons were also recovered from Khurshid Memorial Hall and surrounding offices and houses.

DG Rangers apprised the Corps Commander about the disposal of arrested criminals and as per details 26 target killers will be produced in the courts today, while 27 criminals are already nominated in FIRs will be processed for 90 days preventive detention, so that the arrested criminals will be brought under the ambit of law and due legal procedure through legal procedure. DG Rangers also highlighted that Rangers will ensure that no one would dare to influence the Investigation Officers and judicial officers.

Corps commander saw the weapons seized during recent crack down which will be handed over to Police after legal requirements, details of the weapons is as follow:-

a. G3 – 05

c. LMG – 02

d. 12 bore – 22

e. 7mm rifle – 19

f. 8mm rifle – 04

g. 223 rifle – 02

h. 22 rifle – 25

i. 222 rifle – 03

j. M-4 – 01

k. TT pistol – 14

l. 9mm pistol – 04

m. Silencer – 06

n. Telescopes – 05

o. Walkie Talkie – 36

p. Bullet Proof Jackets- 02

DG Rangers also mentioned the role of citizens and thanked the citizens of Sindh particularly the citizens of Karachi who are cooperating with the LEAs to make the current wave of operation a success.

He also urged the traders and transporters to start with the normal lives and Rangers will ensure law and order. Corps Commander praised the dedication and hard work of Rangers personnel who work day and night to bring stability and normalcy to the city.

He also hoped that the pace of current across the board operations which are conducted without any bias will continue till the elimination of last criminal, terrorists, target killer and anti social element from the area of responsibility.

7. Shahzad Ansari (apprehended by 73 wing with weapon, while Rangers were leaving 9 Zero)

Profiling in progress for remaining 83 suspects (incl 8 x held at RAT Wing).

Pakistan Rangers Sindh has conducted a series of targeted raids at Surrounding areas of 90 including Khursheed Memorial Hall today.

During the above mentioned action following hardcore criminals have been arrested. 1. Faisal Mota (involved in murder of Wali Khan Babur and convicted and sentenced to death by court) 2. Farhan Shabbir @ Mullah 3. Amir 4. Nadir (convicted and sentenced 13 years) 5. Ubaid K 2 6. Identifications of others is in progress. Huge quantity of weapons and ammo recovered.
