A policeman was shot dead as a result of firing in Korangi area of Karachi early morning today.
On the other hand, police arrested an extortionist who had demanded 5 Lac from a trader in an operation in Orangi. Various cases have already been filed against the accused.
Moreover, Rizvia police arrested a suspect in an operation in Nazimabad. Weapons and a motorbike was also been recovered from the suspect. According to the police, the accused had been involved in various street crimes and dacoits.
Earlier, at least four people were killed in shooting incidents in different areas of Karachi despite efforts by officials to quell the violence in the city on Saturday.
Two persons were shot dead near Nasir Jump area of Korangi. One of the victims had been identified as Zakir Hussain Shah.
