Islamabad: China will provide six patrol ships to Pakistan Maritime Security Agency for the protection of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The agreement was signed between China Ship Trading Company (CSTC) and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) during a ceremony at Ministry of Defence Production (MoDP) in Islamabad yesterday.

According to the agreement, the vessels will be used to prevent illegal activities in the sea. In addition, the four ships will be constructed in China while the remaining two will be built at Karachi’s Shipyard and Engineering Works.

The spokesman for MoDP said the two vessels would be used to stop unlawful movements of miscreants who wanted to foil the CPEC project.
