MetLife Stadium fire fears eased after officials said thick black smoke near the FIFA World Cup final venue came from a warehouse blaze in Carlstadt, New Jersey.
Local police received the fire report at about 9:50 a.m. ET from a warehouse facility on Washington Avenue, less than three miles from the stadium.

Fire crews, including Wallington Engine Co. 202, responded to the two-alarm blaze and contained the fire. Officials reported no injuries from the warehouse fire.
Photos shared on social media appeared to show smoke rising from MetLife Stadium, which has a listed capacity of 82,500. The venue will host eight FIFA World Cup matches, including the final.
MetLife Stadium will stage its first match of the tournament on June 13, when Brazil face Morocco in Group C.
Authorities recently installed a natural grass pitch at the stadium before its World Cup fixtures.
