Budget FY 2014 – 2014 is being presented by Ishaq Dar in NA

Federal Minister is presenting  budget for the fiscal year 2014-2015 worth approximately Rs 3087 billion on Tuesday.

In budget 2014-15  salaries of employees has been increased by 10-15%, Rs 525 billion has been allocated for developmental projects and the  Rs. 700 billion  has been kept for the defence.

Latest Highlights

Minimum government employees salaries raised from a minimum of Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 per month.

The minimum pension has also been raised from Rs 5000 to Rs 6000 per month.

Tax on cigarettes raised, will lead to an increase in price

Federal excise duty will not be imposed on telecom services if respective province tax is imposed.

Tax non Corporate sector reduced by 1%

The tax collection target is increased by 10%  and for year 2014 -2015 set target is at 3945 billion.

1 billion rupees will be allocated for Prime Minister s Health Insurance Scheme.

Rs. 500 billion is  allocated for agriculture related loans. upto Rs 10 lac will be given to low-income families, state will be the guarantor of 40% of the loan amount.

Livestock insurance will be given to having livestock over 10 animals. Sales tax on tractors will be at 10%

Farmers having 5 acre irrigated and 10 acre rainy lands will be given loans worth Rs 1 lakh.

Trainee in textile sector will be given Rs 8000/month stipend.s

For health secrtor Rs 26 billion 80 crore have been allocated.

For revival of railway a sum of Rs 77 billion have been allocated.

500 railway engines will be brought to the system in 5 years

World Bank is expected to fund $700 million for Dasu Dam.

Rs. 30 billion have been allocated for Karachi to Lahore motorway.

The allowance under Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) raised to Rs 1500 per month.

53 lakh families reached for financial support.

Conveyance allowance of employees upto 15 grades is raised to 5%

The post of superintendent upgraded from Grade 16 to 17.

9 lakh will gain employment with the introduction of 3G and 4G technologies: Ishaq Dar

Custom duty reduced from 30% to 25%

The rate of economic progress will be 4.14%: Ishaq Dar

Successfully restricted inflation rate to single digit: Budget speech

Privatisation necessary to eliminated poverty: Ishaq Dar
