The police have found Azam Swati, a leader from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), guilty in five cases related to the May 9 incidents, as determined by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) that examined his interim bail applications.
The authorities reported completing their investigation during the recent session, establishing Swati’s guilt on all charges. The court presided over by Judge Manzoor Ali Gul, deferred the decision, granting Swati’s legal team one last opportunity to argue for his bail.
Swati, citing health concerns, informed the court of his inability to contest his bail applications. Judge Gul emphasized the importance of compelling arguments from the defence to consider granting bail.

Swati maintains that the charges against him are unfounded. However, the court pointed out that, regardless of the nature of the accusations, the defence must engage with the legal process through argumentation.
The hearing for Swati’s interim bail has been postponed until February 25. In a related incident last November, after being released from Attock Jail, Swati was detained by Taxila police. He faces charges under The Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997 in a case concerning PTI’s protests, which the authorities labelled as violent. This case also implicates PTI founder Imran Khan and Islamabad President Aamir Masood Mughal Khan.
