An FIR was registered by the police on Saturday against Geo network owner Mir Shakeelur Rehman, programme host Shaista Lodhi, actress Veena Malik and her husband Asad Bashir Khattak.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Jahangir Awan, had directed the police to register an FIR against the four under blasphemy and terrorism charges for airing and participating in a controversial show on May 14.
The case was registered under PPC’s sections 295-A [deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs], 295-C [use of derogatory remarks, etc., in respect of the Prophet (PBUH) ] and 298-A [use of derogatory remarks, etc., in respect of holy personages]. The suspects were also booked under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act [punishment for terrorist act].
However no arrests have been made as yet.
When she has apologized then the matter should be finished as many Ulama-e-Karaam gave the same statement.

They have done lot of damage to our institutions, without any evidence we shouldn't ban Geo or any other TV channel. However, these media should take the advantage of the liberty under the name of "media ki Azadi" there should be some By Law or Code of Ethics for these channels.
I believe in taking firm measures so no other TV channel couldn't even dare to do such things and there should be any internal screening before putting in onair.
all of the accused are adults and not very reputable ones. They should have thought out the consequences before hand. Ratings and bosses approval are not the only prize. One can rise above petty emotional backlash all of them are receiving. I have a lot of doubt’s about the intellectual capabilities of Dr. Wahidi/ Lodhi and am glad she never practised medicine
