The renewed viewing comes two months before Amazon expands the franchise with “Blade Runner 2099.” All eight episodes of the Prime Video limited series will premiere on November 25, 2026, with Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer leading the cast.
The series takes place 50 years after “Blade Runner 2049.” Silka Luisa serves as showrunner, while Ridley Scott is among the executive producers, making the 2017 sequel the backdrop for the new story rather than a separate reboot.
