PARIS: Reality star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian has been awarded symbolic damages of €1 ($1.15) over the 2016 Paris armed robbery, the exact amount she had requested.
A lawyer involved in the case confirmed the September 15 ruling. Kardashian’s stylist and friend Simone Harouche, who was in the hotel during the robbery, was also awarded €1 at her request.
Kardashian and Harouche said in a joint statement that the ruling was about “accountability and recognition,” not financial compensation, adding that the robbery still affects them.
The court awarded a former receptionist at the Hôtel de Pourtalès €109,516 ($126,472) for trauma linked to the attack. The hotel received €50,000 ($57,741).
Kardashian was bound and held at gunpoint during Paris Fashion Week in October 2016 as robbers stole more than $6 million in jewellery, including a diamond ring. Only a diamond-encrusted cross was later recovered, according to Associated Press reporting.

A Paris court convicted eight defendants in May 2025 and acquitted two others. None of those convicted returned to prison because their sentences were covered by time already served in pretrial detention.
