30 killed, 15 injured passenger bus enroute from Gilgit to Rawalpindi collided with a car

A collision between a passenger bus and a car on the Karakoram Highway in the Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resulted in up to 30 fatalities and 15 injuries among the passengers.

A passenger bus traveling from Gilgit to Rawalpindi reportedly collided head-on with a car traveling in the opposite direction in the Shitial region of the province.

After being alerted, the police and rescue personnel sped to the scene and transported the dead and injured to the RHC Hospital.

Officials in charge of rescue operations claim that the darkness was causing problems for the rescue teams.

President Dr. Arif Alvi has expressed his condolences. He expressed sorrow over the fatalities in the tragic incident and empathy for the grieving families.

The death toll from a tragic bus accident near Chillas, Gilgit Baltistan, has also been acknowledged by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He offered his condolences to the grieving families and prayed for the high ranks of the deceased souls.

The prime minister commanded that all available medical resources be available to the injured.

In response to the bus accident at Harban Nala in Kohistan, GB Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid has expressed his profound sorrow and grief.

The injured were to be removed from the scene of the incident and given access to all appropriate medical facilities, at his direction, by the administration and all pertinent departments.

The chief minister also gave instructions for creating a special control room to manage and coordinate emergency response better.
