Two people were injured Tuesday when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) or roadside bomb was detonated at the Bagh-e-Naran Chowk in Peshawar’s Hayatabad area, police said.
Initial reports suggest the explosion took place near a private school, which was closed at the time.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations said a security forces’ convoy was passing by when it came under attack. However, no security personnel were injured in the blast, and the van also remained unhurt.
Rescue and security teams are on the way to the site of the crime.
Hayatabad is an upper class suburb of Peshawar on the south-western fringe of the city.
