A suicide bomber earlier today blew himself up near Rawalpindi as the bomb disposal squad was called in to inspect a passenger bus on information of a bomb in Rawalpindi-bound vehicle.
According to police, they stopped the passenger bus, coming from Peshawar, near Wah Garden and vacated the vehicle for searching.
The police found a hand grenade during the search after which the suicide bomber threatened to explode the bus.
Later, he blew himself up, smashing glasses of nearby vehicles into pieces.
The police said the suicide bomber was travelling in the passenger bus. There are no reports of other casualties while police have commenced investigations.
