Pak Army has lunched a ground offensive in Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan Agency, to clear militant hideouts.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), ground operation was initiated after complete evacuation of the locals.
At least 15 militants have been killed during the action while door to door search is underway.
ISPR reported that announcements are being made for any stranded tribals who may have stayed back for any reasons, to leave also.

Operation Zarb-i-Azb was initiated in the North Waziristan region on June 15 after terrorist attacks on Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport June 8 killed 30 people, including 10 militants.
So far, the operation has seen the elimination of more than 300 militants in airstrikes while many hideouts have also been destroyed according to ISPR sources. However independent media verification is not possible since the media does not have access to the area.
