Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Thursday said Pakistan was fighting a defining battle in the nation’s history and by the grace of Allah Almighty, the terrorists would be defeated.

The prime minister expressed these views while chairing a high level meeting held here to review the security situation.

It was agreed in the meeting that operational success in Waziristan was linked to national unity, peace and stability and there was a need to extend full support to our troops in the combat area.

Consensus was also reached on the allocation of all possible resources to look after the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the meeting the Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, briefed the prime minister regarding the Lahore incident.

The CM informed the PM that strict action would be taken against those who were found responsible of the brutalities against the unarmed protestors.

Apart from Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the meeting was attended by Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Senator, Parvaiz Rashid, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq, and Minister SAFRON Lt. Gen (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch. (APP)
