Youm-e-Ali – is being observed across the country with religious fervour and reverence.
Mourning processions are being taken out in various cities of the country to mark the day.
Various programmes have been chalked out in connection with the day where Ulema and scholars will shed light on the life and services of Hazrat Ali (RA) for Islam.
Meanwhile, Radio Pakistan is broadcasting three day special programs to mark the martyrdom anniversary of the fourth Caliph of Islam.
In this connection, a program titled “Muqam e Saydena Ali Karam Ullah Waj Ho Sahaba e Kram ki Nazar Mein” will be aired at 03:20 pm on Saturday.
The M.A. Jinnah Road of Karachi has been blocked for traffic while heavy police contingents deployed along the main route of the Youm-e-Ali procession in the city.
As many as 5,570 police personnel have been deployed across the city to ensure security of the participants of the mourning processions and gatherings.
The central procession in Karachi will be taken out from Nishtar Park and will be concluded at Hussainian Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.
The Sindh government had issued notifications on Thursday banning pillion riding on motorcycle and the use of heli-cam for media coverage on the occasion.
