The sudden death of Sara Lee, a WWE wrestler, in October 2022 at 30 shocked and saddened the WWE community.

A family source to Lee’s family told the PEOPLE that heavy drinking may have led to her demise. At the time of her death, Lee had been a heavy drinker. Her spouse, Cory James Weston, better known as Westin Blake, later discovered her body.

In a Facebook post, Terri Lee, Lee’s mother, stated that the family is “in shock” following Lee’s abrupt death. She stated, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Sara Weston has gone to be with Jesus.”

Blake wrote a heartfelt letter to his deceased wife following her passing. The man called her a “motivator, best friend, sister, daughter, aunt, and the pillar of our family.” I fell in love with you when I saw you, Blake, posted on Instagram. I used to describe you as an angel on earth.

Lee began her career in Hope, Michigan, after graduating from Meridian High School in 2010, where she was a track team member and competed in powerlifting contests. She competed in the sixth season of Tough Enough and was crowned the winner, earning her a $250,000 contract with WWE.

Lee’s tragic death devastated her family, friends, and the wrestling community. However, the town has always been one to pull together after a disaster. In the wake of Lee’s death, fundraising was organized to assist her husband and three children.

“Every dollar earned from this will be donated directly to Cory and his children. Accept my warmest appreciation for everyone. The fundraiser’s description states, “RIP Sara, you were one of the nice ones.

Lee’s untimely passing serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health and the dangers of alcohol misuse. It is crucial to seek assistance if you have mental health issues and to acquire responsible drinking habits.
