As Wrexham AFC pursues a third consecutive promotion this season, key players Paul Mullin and Elliot Lee have humorously stated a unique reward they desire from owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney should they succeed.
Since Reynolds and McElhenney acquired the Welsh club in early 2021, Wrexham has rapidly ascended from the National League to League One. Now, they are setting their sights on reaching the Championship, a tier they haven’t competed in for over two decades.
Both Mullin and Lee, pivotal in the club’s recent successes and selected for the PFA League Two Team of the Year, shared their thoughts at the Manchester Professional Footballers’ Association event. Asked about their preferred reward for another successful season, Mullin playfully suggested a trip to Butlins, referencing the team’s well-publicized celebration in Las Vegas earlier this summer after their promotion to League Two.
Despite the light-hearted nature of Mullin’s comment, his and Lee’s focus remains firmly on the season’s goals. “We need to continue what we’ve been doing for the last three years,” Mullin told SPORTbible. “Our aim is to make the town proud and maintain our performance levels. If we keep enjoying our football, the results should follow.”
With a strong start in League One, garnering four points from their first two games, Wrexham is a top contender for promotion to the Championship. Backed by experienced players and their celebrity owners, the club’s remarkable journey is far from over.

Whether it’s another glamorous trip or a more modest celebration, achieving a third straight promotion will undoubtedly call for creative festivities from Reynolds and McElhenney to honour their team’s ongoing success.
