WhatsApp will soon discontinue support on 35 older smartphone models, affecting users globally as part of its strategy to accommodate advanced features and security enhancements.
By the end of the year, users on both Android and iPhone platforms will need to switch to newer devices to maintain uninterrupted access to the app.
The following models will lose WhatsApp support:
Apple: iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone SE.
Samsung: Galaxy Ace Plus, Galaxy Core, Galaxy Express 2, Galaxy Grand, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Zoom.
Motorola: Moto G, Moto X.
Huawei: Ascend P6 S, Ascend G525, C199, GX1s, Y625.

WhatsApp will now require an Android device with version 5.0 or later or an iPhone operating on iOS 12 or later. Using older devices may limit functionality, prevent access to new features, and increase exposure to security risks.
Notifications will be sent to affected users, advising them to upgrade their devices to continue using WhatsApp seamlessly.
