NEW YORK, United States: Jessica Pegula became the first player in the Open Era to reach her first four career Grand Slam semifinals after turning 30 during her run at the 2026 US Open.
Pegula, 32, reached this year’s semifinal after rallying past fellow American Emma Navarro 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. It marked her third consecutive US Open semifinal.
Her first major semifinal came at the 2024 US Open, months after she turned 30. Pegula advanced to the final before losing 7-5, 7-5 to Aryna Sabalenka.
She returned to the US Open semifinals in 2025, where Sabalenka again stopped her, this time 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. Pegula reached her third Grand Slam semifinal at the 2026 Australian Open. Elena Rybakina defeated her 6-3, 7-6(7).
The American also became the oldest US woman in the Open Era to reach her first major singles final when she advanced to the 2024 US Open championship match.

Pegula entered this year’s US Open semifinal with a 50-12 season record and titles in Dubai and Charleston. She had also reached finals in Washington and Cincinnati during the North American hard-court swing.
