US Special Representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan James Dobbins paid separate farewell calls on Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and PM’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz in Islamabad earlier today.
Dobbins and Nisar had an exchange of views on overall security situation of the region besides relations between Pakistan and the US.
“A peaceful Afghanistan is important for the overall security of the region,” Chaudhry Nisar opined.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), James Dobbins also called on Army Chief General Raheel Sharif.
During their meeting, matters of mutual interest including regional security, Pak-US ties and latest situation of Afghanistan came under discussion.
