The meeting of the parliamentary committee to finalise the terms of reference (ToR) for the Panama Papers judicial commission was postponed on Tuesday.
According to the National Assembly Secretariat, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq contacted Leader of the Opposition in Senate, Aitzaz Ahsan and offered his condolences over the recent attack on Quetta Civil Hospital which claimed the lives of 70 people, mostly lawyers.
The handout stated that after speaking with Aitzaz Ahsan, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq postponed the ToR parliamentary committee meeting which was to be held on Tuesday. Sadiq stated that a future date to conduct the meeting would be decided after consulting the opposition.
On Monday, Balochistan Bar Association President Anwar Kasi was shot dead in Quetta. After his body was shifted to the Quetta Civil Hospital, a bomb blast occurred at the hospital followed by firing. 70 people were killed in the bomb and gun attack, mostly lawyers.
