LOS ANGELES: Actor Anne Hathaway’s “The End of Oak Street” earned $2.5 million from Thursday previews across 3,000 North American cinemas, according to box-office data.
The Warner Bros. science-fiction thriller also collected $4 million from its initial international rollout. Its early worldwide total reached $6.5 million, The Numbers reported.
Trade forecasts placed the film’s North American opening between $18 million and $23 million. Its global debut could reach $38 million to $48 million, with overseas markets expected to provide the larger share.
The preview result matched the $2.5 million earned by “Mickey 17,” which opened to $19 million in March 2025. It also surpassed “The Creator,” which made $1.6 million in previews before a $14 million opening.

However, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” remains the leading film. The superhero sequel earned $205.7 million during its second week and reached $715.8 million domestically.
David Robert Mitchell wrote and directed “The End of Oak Street.” Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella and Christian Convery star alongside Hathaway.

The PG-13 film follows a suburban family whose neighbourhood moves into a prehistoric environment after a mysterious cosmic event. Warner Bros. released it widely on Friday, August 14.
