Senior Pakistani tennis player Talha Waheed has earned a place in history after securing a Guinness World Record for the most successful tennis serves in one minute, delivering an impressive 59 accurate serves and surpassing the previous record of 42.

Talha achieved the milestone on November 8, 2024, at a tennis facility in Lahore. The earlier record, which had stood since 2019, fell by a wide margin, highlighting the scale of his performance. Guinness World Records officially recognised the feat this week.

Following the achievement, Talha received his Guinness World Records certificate at a formal ceremony, which the organisation’s headquarters invited him to. The recognition marked a major moment for Pakistani tennis on the global stage.

Despite the historic accomplishment, Talha said he has no plans to slow down. He announced his intention to pursue additional world records, aiming to raise Pakistan’s profile in international tennis and motivate young athletes to pursue the sport professionally.

The Pakistan Tennis Federation praised Talha’s dedication and described him as a seasoned and committed competitor. The federation said his success reflects years of discipline and technical mastery.

PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi congratulated Talha on the achievement, calling it both rare and inspiring. He said earning a place in the Guinness Book of World Records is extremely challenging and noted that the milestone will provide a significant boost for tennis in Pakistan.

Talha Waheed’s record-breaking performance has drawn widespread appreciation within the local sporting community and is being seen as a landmark moment that could help revive interest and investment in Pakistani tennis.
