The judges working at Supreme Court of Pakistan have been given a remuneration boost.
According to sources, acting upon the advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, President Mamnoon Hussain approved a pay-raise to the tune to 10 percent for the judges of the apex court.
Previously, the judges’ emoluments were raised by 20 percent during the Pakistan People’s Party govt.
The then president Asif Ali Zardari, on the advice of former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, had approved an increase in the salaries as well as allowances for the superior judiciary in January 2013.
