A suicide bomber struck a checkpoint near the porous border between South Waziristan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, resulting in the tragic loss of lives. Among the victims were three security personnel and one civilian.
Deputy Commissioner Rehan Gul Khattak provided details, stating that the attack claimed the lives of two security officials, one police officer, and one civilian. Additionally, one security official and police officer sustained gunshot wounds during the incident. The injured individuals and the deceased were swiftly transported to Miranshah Hospital for treatment and proper arrangements.
DC Khattak revealed that the suicide bomber attacked a routine search at a checkpoint manned by several security personnel and local police. The assailant detonated himself, causing devastation and claiming multiple lives.

This unfortunate event marks the second terrorist attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province within 48 hours. The previous day, a group of militants armed with rocket-propelled grenades launched an assault on a private exploration company’s gas facility in Tall tehsil, Hangu district. As a result, four Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel and two private security guards lost their lives, as reported by the police.
According to Irfan Khan, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Tall, the terrorists utilized heavy weapons, including rocket-propelled grenades, to target wells M-8 and M-10. While the security guards at M-8 managed to repel the attack, casualties occurred at M-10. In their violent act, the militants also damaged a solar power facility at the gas well before escaping to the neighboring North Waziristan area.
