On Monday, the Sindh government officially took over the Green and Orange Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) services.
The handover ceremony held at the Operational Command and Control Center in Karachi’s Garden area. Waseem Bajwa, CEO of the Pakistan Infrastructure Development Company Limited (PIDCL), transferred control to Sindh Transport Secretary Asad Zamin, who Kamal Dayo of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority and other officials joined.
Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon called the transfer a “significant step” in organizing Karachi’s transit network. “We’re committed to enhancing these BRT services with modern technology and maintenance,” he said.

The Orange and Green Line transfer aims to deliver top-notch travel options for citizens and efficiently and carefully address the city’s growing transport needs.
The government envisions an integrated urban transport system. Memon outlined plans to link the Green and Orange Lines with other public transit options, streamlining travel across Karachi. With this handover, Sindh takes a bold step toward a smarter, more connected future for commuters.
