A tragic incident unfolded following Karol G’s concert in Guatemala City, resulting in the deaths of a 31-year-old pregnant woman and two men aged 21 and 30.
The shooting occurred in Cavalá, a prestigious district in Guatemala’s capital. Authorities later apprehended 33-year-old Christian Aroldo Heinemann, finding him in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol and identifying him as the primary suspect.
The violence erupted early Sunday on Austríaco Boulevard, near the U.S. Embassy and the concert venue, marking Karol G’s second performance there.
The deceased men, Gerson David Barrera and Ángel Estuardo Trujillo had been disputing with an individual they paid to watch their car, which they found damaged. The confrontation escalated, leading to their shooting at close range, with a stray bullet fatally striking Diana Yasmin Chinchilla, who was nearby with her two children.
Despite the tragedy, Karol G’s concerts on March 1 and 2, part of her “Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful Latam Tour 2024,” were met with enthusiasm, drawing large crowds. The incident came shortly after Karol G experienced a flight emergency due to smoke in the cabin, necessitating an unexpected landing in Los Angeles.
