Shilo Sanders Mercedes repossession proceedings resumed after the company filed another request to take back the former Colorado football player’s $135,000 vehicle.
Mercedes-Benz Financial Services filed the request on Tuesday, June 2, claiming Sanders missed monthly payments of $9,170 and also owed payments from February to May 2026. The filing asks the court for relief from the bankruptcy stay so the company can repossess the car.
The same vehicle was the subject of an earlier repossession claim in April 2025. Mercedes later withdrew that effort after Sanders addressed the outstanding payment issue, according to reports citing court filings.
Sanders filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in October 2023, with liabilities exceeding $11 million. John Darjean, a former school security guard, was listed as the primary creditor.
The bankruptcy filing triggered an automatic stay, which paused debt-collection efforts against Sanders. Mercedes-Benz is now asking the court to lift that protection for the vehicle.
