Saudi Arabia has simplified tourist visa requirements for Pakistani travellers, effective immediately. The Saudi Tourism Authority announced that applicants must now show a bank statement with a minimum monthly credit of $750 or equivalent.
Tourist visits from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia increased by 43% in 2023 over the previous year. Saudi Arabia will host 2.7 million Pakistani visitors in 2024 to meet this demand. To streamline the visa process, the country has established six Tasheer offices across Pakistan in cities including Peshawar, Quetta, Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and Multan.
The Tasheer offices enhance the visa application experience by providing guidance, biometric enrollment, status updates, and passport delivery. Before visiting, travellers should schedule an appointment through the Tasheer website.
Saudi has also launched a transit visa for travellers flying via Saudia and Flynas, allowing them to explore the kingdom for up to 96 hours. Additionally, a visa upon arrival is available for those with valid and previously used UK, US, or Schengen visas.
Last year, Saudi Arabia introduced a one-year multiple-entry visa for Pakistanis aimed at those visiting for personal reasons such as weddings or family gatherings. This visa permits multiple entries over 12 months, enabling visitors to experience Saudi Arabia’s diverse cities and natural beauty throughout the year.
Holders of the one-year visa can also perform Umrah, reflecting Saudi’s commitment to enhancing spiritual and cultural visits.
By facilitating easier visa access, Saudi Arabia encourages Pakistani travellers to visit family perform Umrah and discover the country’s diverse attractions. These include Riyadh’s dynamic urban landscape, Jeddah’s cultural scenes, the Red Sea’s hidden gems, and the historical wonders of AlUla.
According to the kingdom’s tourism authority, Saudi Arabia is a year-round destination that offers cooler retreats in the summer and a full calendar of events that attract tourists each winter.
