Khairpur, Sindh: Production from the Sahito-1 gasfield has started at 6.0 MMSCFD. The processed gas is injected into the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited network, OGDCL said in a statement.
Oil and Gas Development Company Limited said gas supply from the Sahito-1 gasfield in Khairpur district had begun. The company said production would rise gradually after the planned surface-facility expansion.
OGDCL laid a 6-inch, 5-kilometre flowline to connect the well to the Suleman Gathering Facility. This is for onward processing at the Sinjhoro Plant. The company said the work enabled early monetisation of the discovery.

The processed gas is now being injected into the SSGCL network, according to the company’s statement. The supply adds indigenous gas volumes to the local distribution system.
OGDCL operates the Khewari Exploration License joint venture with a 75pc working interest. Government Holdings Private Limited holds the remaining 25pc stake, according to the press statement.
OGDCL had announced the Sahito-1 discovery in March. At that time, they said the exploratory well in Khairpur tested at 17.2 MMSCFD through a 32/64-inch choke at a wellhead flowing pressure of 3,390 psi.
Business Recorder reported in March that Sahito-1 was drilled to 3,870 metres TVD in the Sembar Formation. OGDCL used in-house technical expertise for this.
