Russia welcomed the Türkiye-Armenia normalisation process ahead of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan’s June 15–17 working visit to Moscow.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said talks would focus on cooperation in the South Caucasus. It said that Moscow and Ankara wanted a peaceful, predictable region.
The ministry said discussions would focus on unblocking transport links and communications. It also listed post-conflict reconstruction among the expected topics.
Russia said the goals could be advanced through joint efforts within a regional cooperation framework.

The statement was issued before Fidan’s planned talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
The South Caucasus agenda comes as Türkiye and Armenia continue efforts to normalise relations. The two neighbours have held talks for years but still have no full diplomatic ties.
Turkish officials have linked progress with Armenia to a broader peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Ankara has said a final Baku-Yerevan agreement would help unlock faster normalisation with Yerevan.
