Red Bull Racing unveiled a stunning white livery for the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix on April 1, paying homage to Honda, their departing engine partner.
The upcoming race in Suzuka marks the final home event of the long-standing partnership between Red Bull and Honda, which will conclude in 2025 as Red Bull transitions to Ford power units in 2026. The design of the RB21 pays homage to the Honda RA272, which secured the brand’s first Formula 1 victory in 1965 at the Mexican Grand Prix with Richie Ginther behind the wheel.
The livery showcases a red sun on the nose, symbolizing Japan’s flag, with metallic red bulls painted across the engine cover. Honda’s 1960s-era logos enhance the car’s vintage appeal, while the nose cone marks 60 years since that landmark victory.

The design recalls the white tribute livery from the 2021 Turkish Grand Prix, introduced after the Suzuka race was cancelled due to COVID-19. It honours a legacy of excellence. Yuki Tsunoda, stepping in for Liam Lawson, will debut for Red Bull in front of his home crowd.

Tsunoda’s Dream Debut
“I never thought I’d race for Red Bull at Suzuka,” Tsunoda remarked during a Honda event in Aoyama. “With this being the final year of Red Bull and Honda’s partnership, it feels like fate.” The 24-year-old aims to master the RB21 quickly. “If I enjoy FP1 and connect well with the car, the results will come, maybe even a podium finish,” he added. The Japanese Grand Prix combines nostalgia and ambition, a fitting farewell to a powerful partnership.
