The PPP submitted yesterday an adjournment motion to the Senate Secretariat to discuss a ‘Pentagon report’ about Pakistan.
The motion, which carries signatures of PPP parliamentary leader Raza Rabbani, Farhatullah Babar, Saeed Ghani and Sughra Imam, has sought adjournment of normal business of the house to take up the issue, terming it a “matter of urgent public importance”.
On Nov 3, the US department of defence sent a report to the Congress under the title ‘Progress Towards Security and Stability in Afghanistan’, in which it was alleged that terrorist ‘sanctuaries’ inside Pakistan were operating against Afghanistan and India.
Meanwhile, Raza Rabbani submitted a call attention notice asking Defence Minister Khwaja Asif to inform the house about the ‘steps taken to safeguard Pakistani troops in Africa on various United Nations peace missions’ in the wake of reports about the spread of deadly Ebola virus.
