Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) President Raheeq Abbasi said Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri’s secretariat might be raided at any time through this night.
Abbasi claimed Punjab government held a high level meeting on Saturday and decided once and for all to launch tonight a crackdown on Minhaj-ul-Quran International Secretariat located in Model Town.
Under the plan, he disclosed, the ‘commandos will be air-dropped on the rooftop’ of the central headquarters or Dr. Qadri’s residence. He did not specify how the Punjab police have acquired experienced paratroopers well versed in jumping at night from moving aircraft.
Perceptibly disquieted at the report, the PAT leader called for the national defence institutions to take notice of the plan readied by the provincial government against Dr. Qadri.
Raheeq Abbasi further revealed that the attempt might be made tonight to break up the phalanx of the PAT workers with the help of intense teargas, shelling and even firing.
Warning the government headed by Shahbaz Sharif to avoid such sabotage stratagem, he said, “There is a limit to each extremism and terrorism.”
