Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif performed the ground-breaking of Havelian-Thakot motorway under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Menshera earlier today.

The 120-kilometer section will be completed in 42 months at a cost of Rs133.98 billion.

The section will start from Havelian and after passing through Abbottabad, Mansehra and Shinkiari ends at Thakot.

China Exim Bank will provide 90 per cent of the funding, while rest will be arranged by Pakistan.

The project has been divided into three sub-sections to accelerate the speed of the work.
