A CAS spokesperson announced on Friday that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has significantly reduced Paul Pogba’s doping ban from four years to 18 months.
Paul Pogba originally faced a lengthy suspension, but the adjustment marks a notable alteration in the football star’s professional trajectory.
“The decision has been made: an 18-month suspension effective from September 11, 2023,” the CAS spokesperson relayed to AFP. Details regarding the rationale behind the decision will be disclosed later.
This development follows an incident in August 2023, when Pogba, aged 31, tested positive for testosterone, leading to the initial four-year ban. The reduction in the ban’s length marks a significant turn in the case, potentially allowing Pogba to resume his career sooner than expected.
