Pakistan’s cricket team management is considering changes for the Pakistan vs Namibia match after the national side’s defeat to India in the T20 World Cup 2026. Sources say the management feels disappointed with the performances of senior players and is reviewing possible adjustments for the upcoming fixture.

Reports indicate that Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi may sit out against Namibia. Management is expected to make two to three changes, with a focus on testing bench strength and giving opportunities to other squad members.

Players have already begun preparations for the next game, while the team spokesperson confirmed that the squad will rest before training resumes.

Pakistan vs Namibia Team Changes Under Review

Pakistan’s crucial encounter against Namibia will take place on Wednesday at the Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground. A win is essential for the 2009 champions to secure a place in the Super Eight phase. Even a rain-affected result could be enough for progression.

Speculation about changes follows a disappointing display against India. After choosing to field first on a spin-friendly pitch, Pakistan struggled to contain the opposition as Ishan Kishan’s half-century guided India to 175 for five.

The spin attack faced difficulties. Abrar Ahmed conceded 38 runs in three overs, while Shadab Khan gave away 17 runs in a single over. Neither claimed a wicket.

Captain Salman Ali Agha later described the outing as an “off-day.” Shaheen Afridi was the most effective bowler, finishing with one for 31 from his two overs.

In response, Pakistan’s batting line-up faltered under pressure and were bowled out for 114 in 18 overs after a poor start.

Management now faces important decisions ahead of the Namibia clash. The outcome of this match will determine whether Pakistan advances to the next stage of the tournament.

With qualification on the line, changes to the playing XI could signal a shift in strategy as the team aims to recover momentum.
