Pakistan Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu used a high-profile military ceremony to deliver a firm message on India, with the Pakistan Air Chief’s stance centred on what he described as the need for a mature approach to resolve the issue in line with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Addressing the passing-out ceremony at Pakistan Military Academy Kakul, the Chief of Air Staff said Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully prepared to defend the country while continuing to support the Kashmiri people politically, morally, and diplomatically.
In his address, the Air Chief said Pakistan expects India to adopt a mature position on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He linked any lasting resolution to international resolutions and the right of self-determination for Kashmiris.

At the same time, he stressed that Pakistan is pursuing regional peace despite what he described as an increasingly volatile global and regional environment. That message combined diplomacy with deterrence, presenting Pakistan as ready for peace but also fully capable of responding to aggression.
The Air Chief also used the speech to highlight the operational strength of Pakistan’s armed forces. According to him, the country’s defence services are professionally competent, well-trained, and equipped for modern warfare. He cited the May 2025 operations, Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, as evidence of integrated tri-services coordination. Real-time situational awareness, net-centric warfare, and jointness across land, air, and sea, he added, helped shape what he described as a resolute and unified response.

A major theme of the speech was strategic restraint. The Air Chief said the Pakistan Air Force had the capability to go further during the 2025 confrontation but chose not to escalate, describing that decision as part of Pakistan’s mature strategic culture.
He also said the PAF maintained its tradition of overcoming numerical superiority and credited recent achievements to long-term restructuring, modernisation, and indigenisation. That framing was meant to show both confidence and discipline, projecting strength without abandoning the language of responsibility.
The Air Chief said the PAF is continuing multiple strategic projects, with some in development and others nearing completion. He described those efforts as essential to meeting emerging geopolitical realities and improving not only the frontline capability of the Air Force but also the broader strength of Pakistan’s defence forces.
