General Nadeem Raza, the outgoing Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), attended the farewell ceremony at the Joint Staff Headquarters.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Nadeem Raza will retire on November 26 after 41 years of distinguished military service.
Former CJCSCs and senior officers of the three services were in attendance at the goodbye ceremony.
General Raza praised Allah Almighty in his departure address for allowing him to perform his duty with the utmost integrity, fairness, and dignity.
The ISPR reported that he praised the sacrifices made by the armed services to defend the nation.
The leaving CJCSC reaffirmed that the nation’s defense is impregnable and valiant soldiers will not hesitate to strengthen it.
The Chairman of the joint chiefs of staff committee was greeted with a guard of honor by a well-dressed tri-service contingent upon his arrival at the location.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza has been selected as the new CJCSC and will succeed General Raza.
President Arif Alvi signed the summary and confirmed the nomination of General Asim Munir as the new chief of army staff and Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza as chairman of the joint chiefs of staff committee a day earlier, putting an end to the uncertainty surrounding important military appointments (CJCSC).
