A Mumbai court earlier yesterday June 13 has finally granted divorce to the well known Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur.
According to reports, the custody of the couple’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, has been given to Karisma, while Sunjay has been granted access to the kids for two weekends during holidays. “Today (Monday), the court granted them the divorce after verifying everything that was written,” Karisma’s lawyer Kranti Sathe told Indo-Asian News Service (IANS).
Indian Express quoted Advocate Aman Hingorani saying that a fresh petition for mutual divorce was filed by Sunjay in December.
After the six-month mandatory period was fulfilled, the two on Monday filed consent terms and completed formalities of their divorce, Hingorani said.
The couple had earlier informed the Supreme Court about having amicably resolved the matter and arrived at a mutual agreement on the terms of their separation.

Karisma had tied the knot with Kapur, a Delhi-based industrialist in 2003.
The two had first moved a mutual-consent divorce petition in 2014 which was later withdrawn after differences cropped up over financial settlement and custody of their two children.
The Supreme Court had also quashed an FIR filed by Karisma against her husband and in-laws alleging domestic violence.
