Zulfiqar Ahmed, the Director General of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), has been terminated after discovering fraudulent educational credentials after a thorough investigation by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), which could not verify the authenticity of Ahmed’s academic qualifications.
The investigation revealed considerable discrepancies in his MBA degree. Documentation showed that the individual who had signed Ahmed’s MBA degree was not the president of George Mason University, USA when the degree was purportedly issued. Additionally, the college name on his BBA degree did not correspond to any institution at the issuance, casting doubt on the degree’s validity.
NADRA initiated a comprehensive inquiry into Ahmed’s credentials based on findings from the HEC, which confirmed the degrees were falsified. Despite being given a chance to explain his actions, Ahmed could not provide a satisfactory response.
