Adelaide: Muhammad Irfan after suffering a recurrence of a hip injury will not be available for the rest of the world cup matches.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Media Manager Agha Akbar in a news release siad “Mohammad Irfan has been experiencing pain in his right hip region. Consequently, he was rested during the match against Ireland. Late Monday afternoon, Irfan underwent an MRI scan which confirmed stress fracture in pelvis,
According to team management, Irfan will not be available for all-important quarter-final, therefore, he is being sent back home.
Sources said the team management is considering left-arm fast bowler Junaid Khan to replace Irfan who has been Pakistan’s most dangerous bowler in the World Cup.
