TEHRAN: Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on Tuesday that the US must meet Iran’s seven conditions to restore trust. He delivered the message during talks with Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir.
Ghalibaf referred to demands Tehran had presented in New York, according to the Islamic Consultative Assembly News Agency (ICANA). He maintained that Iran had nothing new to communicate to Washington and that its position remained unchanged.
The speaker accused President Donald Trump’s administration of violating the Islamabad memorandum. He argued that repeated US threats had further deepened Tehran’s distrust.
However, Ghalibaf insisted that military threats and movements would not alter Iran’s strategic decisions. The meeting also covered bilateral relations and Pakistan’s role as a mediator between Tehran and Washington.
Separately, Munir said the Iran-Pakistan border had reopened on Tuesday after temporary technical problems disrupted crossings.
