LONDON: Google confirmed a Google Cloud outage affecting multiple services in its London region on Tuesday, while Revolut and Halifax reported problems with their online services.
The disruption began in the region Google identifies as europe-west2. Engineers are investigating intermittent network failures and service errors.
Meanwhile, thousands of Revolut customers reported problems making payments and accessing funds. The bank acknowledged disruption across several services and assured customers that their money and data remained safe.
Revolut said its teams had been working to resolve the problems since identifying them that morning. Halifax also acknowledged difficulties affecting its app and website. However, it did not confirm whether Google’s outage caused those problems.

Budgeting app Emma directly linked its disruption to Google Cloud. It described the incident as a technical problem rather than a security issue.
Downdetector also recorded increased reports concerning delivery company DPD and Royal Mail. Those reports do not establish that every affected business uses Google Cloud.
