A 24-inch pipeline was blown up by militants in the Pirkoh area of the Bugti tribal territory on Monday, suspending gas supply to the main Sui plant in the area.
The banned Baloch militant group, Baloch Republican Army (BRA) has claimed responsibility for similar attacks in the past. However, no group claimed responsibility for this attack till the filing of this report.
According to police in Dera Bugti, unidentified militants planted explosive materials at the main gas pipeline in the Lunda Nullah area, which is about three kilometres away from the Dera Bugti police station.
After the explosion, officials immediately turned off the gas supply. An official also said gas supply to Sindh and some areas of Balochistan has been affected due to the incident.
