Mike Vrabel Patriots exit talk has not moved the New England Patriots toward firing their head coach, NFL insider Albert Breer said amid reported off-field allegations.
Breer said on 98.5 The Sports Hub that, based on publicly available information, the Patriots do not plan to move on from Vrabel. He said the organisation has acted over the past month in ways that protect his job and the team’s image.
The scrutiny follows reported off-field allegations involving an alleged affair with sports reporter Dianna Russini. The Patriots have not announced any disciplinary action and have kept team operations moving toward the upcoming season.
Breer said the team’s internal view does not treat the current matter as a clear violation of league or club rules. He added that Vrabel would likely remain in place unless new evidence appears or the situation escalates significantly.
Vrabel has reportedly addressed the team privately and stressed his commitment to his duties. He missed Day 3 of the NFL Draft, but the Patriots have not linked that absence to a wider team issue.
Breer said the Patriots could reassess their position if additional individuals came forward or if the matter created a deeper breach of trust inside the organisation. He said the situation would have to reach “a different level” before the team changed course.
The Patriots are expected to keep reviewing developments while Vrabel continues in his role. The organisation’s current posture favours patience and internal review over immediate action
