However, the excitement quickly turned to disappointment. Jordan, known for his assertive demeanour and infrequent public appearances, appeared disinterested in engaging further, visibly upsetting the teenager. Today’s public sightings of Jordan are rare, typically limited to snippets from past interviews or images of him on his luxury yacht in exotic locales like the Mediterranean or Caribbean. For many, this incident seemed to contrast sharply with his legendary status.
The video of this encounter sparked widespread reactions on social media. Some fans came to Jordan’s defence, suggesting he might have been in a hurry, leaving no time to stop. Others, however, were less forgiving, criticizing the basketball legend for not taking a few seconds to fulfil a fan’s dream, arguing that such a small gesture would have been a minimal effort on his part.
Now 61, Jordan has been retired since 2003 but continues to enjoy a life of leisure funded by his successful career, during which he averaged 30.1 points per game and secured six NBA titles, all with the Chicago Bulls.
